Hi I'm Bryony a practising herbalist.

My love of plants stems back to my earliest childhood memories of playing with forget-me-nots in the wildflower patch at the front of our house, and I’ve had herbs in my hands ever since.

I first started studying herbal medicine at the age of nine when, on a family camping trip with my dad, I visited a medicinal herb nursery called ‘Hexham Herbs’ and bought my first small herbal medicine book describing the virtues of all of the plants they grew. This book has been treasured on my bookshelf ever since, as my herbal book collection has slowly taken over my house.

In my astrological birth chart, I have a Sagittarius rising sign, which means that I love adventure and travel. This has taken me across the world to wild places learning about the healing powers of plants, giving depth and insight into my herbal practice. From visiting witch doctors in Cameroon, to herb farms in Tasmania, to essential oil distilleries in France, foraging wild plants in the woods of Wales, and growing herbs on the stormy coast of Sussex.

I’m back in my home of East Yorkshire now with my family and looking forward to slowly taking root with my herbal practice here.

I studied Herbal Medicine at Lincoln University, where I qualified with a first-class degree in 2016.

Since qualifying, I've extended my practice to Mycotherapy so that I can integrate the healing potential of a broad range of medicinal mushrooms into my work..  In 2025 I completed a 100-hour accredited course leading to my Mycotherapy practitioner award. During this course, I explored the scientific research on the use of medicinal mushrooms in women's health conditions.

I'm committed to continually learning and updating my practice and undertake regular CPD training to update my skills and knowledge.

In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy connecting people with plants through workshops, herb walks and talks to bring herbal medicine into everyday use.

I hold an Award in Education and Training and have experience teaching both organic growing and herbal medicine to adults and children.
